BEAUTY BIO:
Fair skin, heavy lidded. I like a full coverage look and rarely walk out the front door without 4 eyeshadows on my lids.
WHAT I USUALLY LOOK FOR IN AN EYE PALETTE:
I'm a sucker for neutral copper, rose gold and golden hues. I want a palette where there aren't 5 extremely bright colours I'll wear once in a blue moon, but there is enough variety to carry me from subtle work look to out-out glam. I'm your basic, Naked palette loving non-experimenter. An MUA nightmare.
SOFT GLAM PALETTE REVIEW
With a base of foundation and a little eye primer, I start with the lightest colour, Tempera, in the inner corner of my lids. It subtly illuminates and opens up the shape of my round eyes, making me look instantly more awake, and the tone isn't too pink (as I feared) - this is a great neutral base for fair skin. I felt spoilt for choice with the selection of mattes, metallics and shimmery shades, but opted for a toasty and warm look.
Wanting a hint of spring brightness, I experimented with the aptly named, muted tangerine of Burnt Orange. The pigment still popped, and was perfectly complemented by the shades Sienna and Rustic. To give depth and shade, I went in for Mulberry and Cyprus Umber, which gave a little heat to my look. The matte shades glided on well with almost no fall out, the double-ended brush offering an extremely light and fluffy blender, which made blending an effortless dream.
My look definitely stood the test of time, lasting a full day of work and needing no top-up for my evening plans.
For the weekend, I experimented with the darker and metallic shades, and the palette didn't disappoint! A touch of golden Bronze lifted my look to evening status, and a hint of the strong pigment of Noir blended easily into a stand-out smoky look.
FINAL VERDICT
This is the ideal palette for the everyday eyeshadow wearer. The muted tones offer a capsule-wardrobe style palette of complementary colours, making for a very wearable and versatile collection.
