On May 22, McPhee's rep released the following statement to E! News:
"After six years of marriage, and having been separated for the past year, Katharine McPhee has filed for a dissolution of marriage from Nick Cokas. The two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends. They ask that people respect their privacy during this time."
At the time, a source told us that McPhee "is in a really good place right now."
The split didn't come as a complete shock though, as McPhee was photographed kissing her Smash director Michael Morris in Los Angeles in the fall.
Morris, however, has since reconciled with his wife, actress Mary McCormack.
McPhee and Cokas first met in 2005 when they performed in a L.A. production of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. They got engaged two years later and tied the knot in Beverly Hills on Feb. 2, 2008.
