A man's been found dead in a back alleyway in a County Durham town.
Police were called to Poplar Street in Chester-le-Street just after 6.30am, to reports of a man lying injured in the street.
Officers and the ambulance services attended the scene, where the man was later pronounced dead.
Forensic teams are at the scene, while a white tent has been erected in the middle of the road - a police cordon surrounding the housing estate remains in place.
At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained and a cordon has been put in place while police enquiries are carried out.
