Lejo Pet has been named senior vice president of acquisitions at Open Road Films. He joins the company from Paramount Pictures, where he signed distribution and rights deals for the likes of “The Gift,” “Goat,” “The Intervention,” and “Hell or High Water.”

At Open Road, Pet will oversee the division and will help build up its slate. Open Road won a best picture Oscar last year for journalism drama “Spotlight.” It currently has Oliver Stone’s “Snowden” in theaters and is preparing to release the Miles Teller boxing drama “Bleed for This,” animated movie “The Nut Job 2,” and Jamie Foxx thriller “Sleepless.”

Prior to Paramount, Pet served as vice president of acquisitions for Exclusive Media and was part of Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions for six years.

“In just a few years Open Road has established a fantastic track record as a supporter of films that achieve critical acclaim and find enthusiastic audiences,” Pet said in a statement. “I am proud to be joining this passionate, accomplished team.”
